    Yes. Why? Because when you install the program using either Synaptic or Add/Remove Programs Ubuntu will download the necessary KDE libraries needed to run it.

    Hello Sirs, thanks for replying my post.

    Because before I posted here about the Kregedit installing problem. The program was a KDE program. But it seems it won' allow me to install it. Some people said that you have to install the build-essentials, xorg-dev, and the kde-devel. But it seems some of the dependencies were not there.

    I looked up kregedit. It's an old program that's no longer maintained. It's not in the Ubuntu repositories, so you would have to install it from source, hence the need for build essentials, and the dev packages. It would probably be a lot of work to get this compiled and running, if you managed it at all. The author mentions on his website that he has been working on a registry library as part of samba4, though. Ubuntu -- Details of package registry-tools in intrepid
