Hi there. I've just bought a dell laptop with ubuntu installed, 8.04. If this is LTS, I can use it until 2010 and don't update? I'm kinda nervous because every instructions I have read say that I can mess up everything.

According to this article, it's actually April of 2011.

By that time the next LTS (Ubuntu 10.04, approx release April 2010) will be out and you can upgrade to that.
