9.04 live cd problem
I have burnt the ISO to a CD which was verified. I believe I am suppose to just insert the CD and boot from it. When I do so after a Ubuntu splash screen I am shown a languages page which is highlighted onto English and nothing else happens.
What have I done wrong. Thanks for any help.

Post your machine's specs here. Which Graphics Card do you have?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Thanks techieMoe and Devils Casper. I have used the prec ious version of Ubuntu from a live CD onmy laptop. At the moment I use 8.10 as a Dual boot with Windows XP and works fine except I have not got my wifi card operational. So I think the specs are minimally adequate.
Yes I thought my navigation was probably not right. Now when I boot up from the live CD I get the splash screen and straight away it goes to the language selection OK.
Now with your advice I just hit enter and get back to the main option but when I hit enter on the Try Ubuntu the disc just whirrs away.
Could it be my specs if so I will find them and post them here.

Yes. Its a Graphics Card problem only. Have you tried boot up in Safe Graphics Mode or Text Mode?
In case both options do not work, try Alternate Installation CD of Ubuntu.
Its easy to fix Graphics Problem after successful installation. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

First of all I don't want to install 9.4 yet just test out with Live CD to see if I can set up my wifi card with this version of Ubuntu.
As I am a total newbee to this I'm afraid I don't know how to boot up in Safe Graphics mode, is that the same as Windows Safe mode? Or Text mode? Many thanks for yr help.

Doesn't Boot Loader Menu at startup has options to boot up in Safe Graphics Mode. I have to check LiveCD of 9.04. I will let you know soon.
