Wireless problems
hello, this is my second attempt at trying to get the hang of this ubuntu lark.
i plugged my ethernet cable in and managed to get the internet on ( please praise me, this is an achievement in it's self!) now i have put my ssid in and my wep key, but 1 thing i dont no is.. my key is 13 digits long, what type of key does that make it? i dont no if thats the only thing stoping me as i have tryed bout options beginning with "wep". and i still cant seam to get on the net. im very very new to all this so basic terms would be appreciated

I'm not the wireless expert here, but we're gonna need a few things first. First, check out this link: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/wir...tart-here.html
It has some well written instructions, and we'll need you to post the output of a few commands to give us an idea of what type of wireless card you have among other details.Jay

i was enjoying the coolness of the internet and then thought, why not move my panel to the bottom of the page and, well, now its gone and i cant get it back. thanks for the bananas dude
will work on this problem with panel bar then have a look at the wireless thing
curse my idle thumbs
