KAlarm problems - it's gone crazy

My KAlarm is going crazy.
I am running Hardy Heron 8.04.
KAlarm never really worked properly. First it didn't start up with
the computer. When I put it in the sessions tray my scheduled alarms
starting popping up immediately and I
I started getting the error: "Failed to save calendar to:". Not surprising since
it was trying to save it to a file that didn't exist.
I couldn't figure out how to change the destination so I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the program.
Now, my old alarms pop continuously with the same error message.
As soon as I delete the multiple error messages, the alarms come
up again and the cycle starts again.

I love the program's design, but so far it has not been user friendly for
the likes of me.

Can anyone help?

i know how you feel, i cant even get it to off when i tested it
