incomplete upgrade
my upgrade to ver 9 was interupted. I cannot boot up to ubuntu.
here is the error msg I get.
Begin: Waiting for root file system
done.
Gave up waiting for root device. common problems:
boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
check root delay
check root
Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev
Alert! /dev/disk/(I believe the numbers here are the identifier for the partition? and did not copy all of them.
the other strange thing is that in the boot menu, it called the ubuntu upgrade 10.1.
So, a bit lost here as to just what I did,and how to heal the problem
thanks in advance

How did you try to do the upgrade? Was it via the package manager, apt-get from the command line, or via a CD/DVD?

You might be able to recover this with a 9.04 installation/recovery CD. If you cannot cold-boot the system, that's what you are likely to need doing.
