    ubuntu 8.10 boot problem!!

    hi i have a dual boot pc one is ubuntu 8.10 and ons windows xp now i want to boot from usb pen drive the extra small windows xp . the boot 1s is the pen drive . and its just wont boot its going straight to the os choice screen what i should do ?????

    Is that pendrive bootable?
    Is the partiton on pendrive have boot flag?
    Have you used that before?
    Press F10 on BIOS loading screen and try selecting pendrive.

    Does your machine support booting up from External Device like USB? Have you checked same USB in other machine?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    I have ..

    1.i have bios suuport pen drive and the system is extra small pc pen drive sow it suuports
    2.what is bios flag ?

    See the bold text. * is called as boot flag. its also called as active partition
