    problem mounting ntfs on ubntu 8.10

    i have a pen drive that is ntfs i tried mounting it in ubuntu and its show this error msg

    $logfile indicates unclean shutdown (0,1) faild to mount '/dev/sdb1': operation is not supported mount is denied becuse nrfs is marked to be in use

    and than 2 choices
    what should i do to format it??

    I think you get the error message because when you accessed the partition in Windows it was not shutdown correctly. I suggest you fix the issue in Windows. If you reformat the drive you will loose all data on the partition ... is that what you really want to do?
