    Cool Help with kubuntu install

    Welcome to the forums!

    You can always try entering startx at the command line.

    If it doesn't work, post the content of any error messages here.

    it says initramfs then i m suppossed to enter some type of commands. in order ti continue.

    sudo update-initramfs -u -k 2.6.17-10-generic is a command someone used to fix this problem back when edgy eft came out. Your kernel will be newer, so the k number will change. I'll see if I can find out which one you should have. What number Kubuntu did you use? 8.04, 8.10, 9.04?
