    If it's just network traffic you're looking for, the application "wireshark" will log copies of your net packets for a period of time you specify, then you can look through it to see what traffic there has been. This is available from the repos.

    If you're looking to see raw serial traffic (like looking for modem command responses), I found some possibilities:
    interceptty
    sersniff - Programs - Project Purple
    SourceForge.net: Serial line sniffer

    I didn't find any of these in the repos, but they shouldn't be too difficult to compile. I hope I answered your question.
