    Question Can't install kicker

Hi I'm brand new to Linux and am trying to install kicker and ksmserver to enable advanced desktop on my asus eeepc. I am getting this error: dpkg: parse error, in file '/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 3013 package 'libqt3-mt':
'Replaces' field, missing package name, or garbage where package name expected
    E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
I've looked at the sequence over and over again in sudo kate and cannot even guess at what might be wrong. Any help would be most welcome. Thankyou.

apt-get install kicker. I've already dowloaded all the system updates etc...just can't see what I'm missing??? It does't help that I've only been using linux for two weeks.
