    [SOLVED] Resolution Problem

    the way i installed ubuntu 8.10 was in side vista which then gives you the choice on startup to start vista or ubuntu. i did this using the free cd from canonical. the only problem i have is that i can not change the standard screen resalution to 1280 x 800.

    Open Terminal and execute this
    Code:
    sudo lspci | grep -i vga
    Post output here.

    my computer is a Fujitsu Siemens ESPRIMO. The problem is that when i am trying to set up my email,it tells me to press the forward button. but with the screen settings it is below the bottom of the screen. what setting do i need to fit every thing to my screen.

    You have to change screen resolution and set correct Graphics Driver. Post the output of command that I suggested in last post.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Smile screen resolution

    i have installed ubuntu 9.10 and solved my screen resolution problem by downloading this deb file: xorg-driver-sis671_0.9_i386.deb.
