What is the best and easiest way to install Ubuntu?
I have heard ubuntu is very efficient and all. Just thinking about switch to ubuntu from existing OS. Already burned Ubuntu into a CD and have also downloaded the ISO. When I start installation, a different icon appears. And when I open it with ISO Buster, it opens up separately. I am totally confused. Just wondering are there any other things I need to install Ubuntu..?
Please help me out.

As long as your bios is set to boot the cd before your hard drive, it should be just a matter of placing the cd into the beverage tray and rebooting. You should see the Ubuntu boot up screen which gives choices on how to proceed... whether to run as a live cd or do an install. If you aren't seeing this screen then something is amiss. Did you check the .iso to make sure its md5sum is correct? Stupid question maybe, but did you burn the image rather than burning a copy of the .iso file? Also, at what speed did you burn it? A slower burn is always preferable and will insure less chances of errors. 8x or slower is a good speed. Check for those and let us know. Here's a "how to" which goes into more detail. Welcome to Linuxforums.

I assume you are currently using windows, so u would have to burn the image first, I use PowerISO's burn option. Then just run the cd in windows and it'll ask u if u want to install ubuntu alongside windows by dualboot or by itself.
I would recommend not deleting windows yet until u feel more comfortable with ubuntu, I'm no ubuntu expert so thats what I did and its worked perfectly so far.

Welcome to LinuxForums!

Another good program for burning your disk is Alex Feinman's Power Toy. After burning, just follw Dapper Dan's suggestion and reboot with it in the cup-holder. The installation for Ubuntu is fairly straight-forward. But should you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
I believe you're referring to the Wubi installer. This is a decent option for installation, but if you ever decide to ditch Windows entirely, there goes your Ubuntu installation as well.
Just a heads-up about some minor details.Jay

Welcome to the forums! What is the best and easiest way to install Ubuntu?
Unfortunately, best and easiest are highly subjective terms and differ greatly from one user to the next.
You can check this HowTo for making sure you properly download the ISO files, burn them to disk as images, and then boot with the newly created installation disk.
If you should continue to have problems after following these steps, post back with all the details.oz

man i donno the best way..... but ya the easiest way is wubi......
as you have downloaded the iso image..... you can now download wubi....
now keep the wubi in the same folder as the iso image....... now just run wubi.....
it'll first try to download the iso image but when it'll find right there it'll install it right away....
now ubuntu will be installed just like an application(not exactly) and you can uninstall it any time.....
but don't worry.... it will boot separately and not run like an application of windows....
