goto System-> Administration -> Hardware Drivers

It should look for your graphics card drivers

    and post the content of
    Code:
    /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Dual Booting Ubuntu 10.04, Windows 7

Toshiba Satellite A200-1M5, Duo Core 2.0 Ghz, 1 Gigs RAM, 256 Intel Card

    Hi and Welcome !

Have you tried to install Graphics Driver through Hardware Drivers option in Administrative Menu?

System -- Administration -- Hardware Drivers
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Did you execute exact command? grep command is available in all Linux distros. Linux is case sensitive. Execute correct command.

    Anyways, execute this
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install envyng
    sudo envyng
It will detect your Graphics Card and install driver.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
