A domino server usually hosts a Lotus Notes database with Notes as the mail application. Are you trying to access Notes via the evolution client?
    Ubuntu 11.04 on IBM ThinkCentre
Fedora, VMware Player (windows xp,Knoppix 6.5) on Lenovo Laptop
GRUB Fedora / Windows 7, VMware Player (Windows 2008 server) on NCIX quad core PC.

This may not be a trivial setup, as the standard Lotus Notes mail client expects to access the Notes mail on a Notes database either on the server or a database (replicated copy) on the client machine. I do know that there is an API for some levels of Domino server, but not sure at what level that is, and weather the API conforms to a protocol that a standard mail client needs to use (or weather it is a web client access).
I would suggest accessing a DeveloperWorks forum and start a new thread on the topic, stating your domino server level in the text.
