    wireless connection

installed Ubuntu 9.04 on one laptop, and absolutley delights. Connection to wireless internet was a breeze. But now I'm at the same location, and I've installed the same Ubuntu disc onto another laptop. Installation was complete, but for some reason this time the Ubuntu Networks manager cannot find any of the wireless networks. They don't even show up. The original laptop is connected fine, and both computers connected easily while using Windows XP. Identical Dell Vostro laptops running the same Windows and the same Ubunto. The only difference is that on this second laptop I am trying to keep Windows, whereas on the first computor I deleted Windows during the Ubunto install. What Can I do to let the new laptop find the wireless networks that are here?

Ah, thank you. Both laptops are operating on the same Ubunto 9.04 OS, and are trying to link-up to the same Linksys 2Wire wireless router. On one laptop, the total of 4 wireless networks that are in the area are recognized, but on the second laptop, no wireless networks are recognized.

I have a feeling that since the second laptop is the one with the problem, and the only difference in the tow is that I'm keeping windows on that second machine but have deleted it from the first, the problem is somehow a conflict with windows. Is this a possibility?

Well, then in that case, I have no idea why I'm having trouble. As I said, both laptops had Ubunto installed from the same dounloaded Ubuntu 9.04, copied onto a CD. One works, the other doesn't. Should I uninstall and reinstall?
