    kubuntu uninstall

    hi i installed kubuntu but i want to de-install it
    i have 2 partitions 1 for windows and 1 for kubuntu but if i format the one with kubuntu i get grub error 22 if i start my computer on i re-installed kubuntu and then i could startup windows again

    someone knows how to de-install it without that i can't startup windows

    Yep, Use Super Grub Disk Homepage to fix Windows Bootloader and use your Windows (what the heck is it? Manage systems) partition editor to reformat Kubuntu Partition back to NTFS.

    Or boot a Windows XP install disc to the Recovery console, then type fixmbr.

    If you have a win98 installation disk, you can boot DOS and type:
    C:\fdisk /mbr

    now you can boot without problems.

    Not the "C:\"

    Assuming that fdisk is on the boot disk, it's just fdisk /mbr . If you are actually using Windows 98, it'll be in
    C:\Windows\Command\Fdisk /mbr .

    It's a liveCD that will boot and run from the cd drive and will allow you to install the windows or linux bootloader to the master boot record. It's menu driven so is quite easy to use.
