Exclamation Nvidia driver bug! blue tint on video playback!

i recently re-installed ubuntu due to repartitioning my hard drive which i do every 5 months!

i did everything as normal installed the gstreamer codecs and my nvidia graphics card driver

and for some odd reason when i go to
system>preference>display and use the nvidia driver for my display i get a blue tint on all video playback minus playing videos of the internet in some cases i have circumvent this by using a .exe format media player programs through wine i came across this problem when trying to play dvds or vob files!

i have done everything to solve this from re-installing codecs to re-configuring gstreamer and installing a different nvidia driver but no luck!

any help would be much appreciated!
    thanks in advance.

You are not using proprietary drivers, or are you?

Have you tried configuring color correction/balance using "Nvidia X Server Configuration" utility?
    command is
    nvidia-settings
