For some reason your monitor is not being detected correctly and either the resolution is set too high or the frequency range is out of bounds for the chosen resolution.

What model of monitor do you have?
If you press [Ctrl + Alt + F1], do you get a text login screen?

If you get a text login screen, we can try to redo the auto-detect, or we can just manually define the legal resolutions for your monitor in the xorg.conf file.

If there is no change in the message, then the problem goes deeper and we'll need to boot in recovery to fix it. We'll see if it needs to go that far.

If its not a typing mistake then vertical sync is not in kHz, its in Hz. Also AFAIK it is usually a range not a single value. For your reference, my Samsung SyncMaster 15" monitor has HSync: 30-55 kHz and VSync: 50-120 Hz.

xorg.conf will be in /etc/X11/ directory.
