Question VLC sound, but no video?,

    Hi,
I'm running ubuntu 9.04 on my laptop with an ati radeon xpress 200M integrated graphics chip. I was trying to play a .mp4 video in vlc and only the audio would play. I played the same video in movie player, and everything came out perfect. I have the restricted extras package installed and I really would like to know why this happened. Please help I'm a bit new to linux. Thanks!

It probably uses a codec a little less common and thus is NOT included in the ubuntu-restricted-extras package. Try to install the package named W32Codecs, you can get it from the Medibuntu repository (as well as some other neat "distractions").
