[SOLVED] gonna give ubuntu another try, any ideas?

Hey, I guess I'm back and gonna give this another try. I would like to use xubuntu this time around but the last time I tried any of the ubuntu family on this new laptop i've gotten I/O errors on the install. I'm using an Asus G50V notebook. Last time we tried this we had the same problem on his desktop as well, im sorry i didnt write it down at the time so im not sure what the error was exactly but my brother had an idea that it had something to do with our CD roms? not sure.

I would like to end up with a dual boot between vista 64 and (x)ubuntu. any suggestions, comments, concerns? or ideas on what the I/O error might have been or if it would've been fixed since the last time I tried ubuntu? (which was about 6 months ago or so).

1)It could be a damaged ISO image so first thing download another ISO Image and burn to CD,

    2)It could e CD-ROM issue

3)It could be an IDE cables issue if you have more than one internal HDD
