    hey

i'll try this out. but, i've actually tried so many others but i'm not sure if what i'm doing is wrong or it just really won't work. i actually downloaded a .tgz file for my printer that's compatible with another linux based os then converted it into a .deb file using alien and i tried installing it. but it wouldn't install the .ppd file that i need. i also tried running my epson cd with wine but during installation it couldn't detect my printer which is quite puzzling since when i turn my printer on my computer alerts me that i have new hardware. btw, i couldn't find my printer in the site you gave me but there's a cx700f which i think is very similar to my printer so i'll try installing that driver. thanks a lot i hope this one works now. i've been at it for 2 days and i'm not sure if this is the first thing i should be handling with ubuntu since i've only had ubuntu for 2 days also.

A search on my Ubuntu machine finds:
    Code:
    /usr/share/foomatic/db/source/printer/Epson-Stylus_CX6600.xml
    /usr/share/foomatic/db/source/printer/Epson-Stylus_CX7700.xml
I'd try one of these. If you're not using it you can configure printers by accessing the cups utility from your browser at:
    Code:
