Different release versions on different machines?
Wanted to know why on my netbook running Jaunty has a release of 2.6.28-11 while my desktop running the same has 2.6.28-12. Is my laptop behind? Why is it not getting the latest kernel updates when it does its weekly update? What should/can I do?

That really did nothing for me. I have all the updates except to the Linux kernel.
When I went to my desktop this morning, there was the update window open that included the new kernal to go up to 13. I installed and rebooted. So I came to my laptop and checked through update manager (and the terminal command you gave me) and it just says "Your system is up-to-date". It almost always does this, even when I know (like today) I know there is an upgrade. Any other suggestions?

Sorry, I don't know why it would be a day or so behind, especially when it is running exactly the same system, unless the sources-list is different on the two computers and the updates happen later on the other list.

I don't know either. I checked the sources and they are on the default choices. At least I think they are. It's strange because it does do the weekly updates, but the linux kernels are never there. I just don't understand it.
