Welcome to the forums!

Sorry, but you'll probably need to rephrase your question and provide more details before anyone can provide any real assistance.oz

Linux sees USB broadband modems as a standard USB modem which is configured as a PPP device. If your service is Sprint, they have instructions on their web site to install their devices on Linux. Most of these instructions will work, although you will need to execute the lsusb command in order to get the device number and manufacturer's ID needed to configure the driver correctly.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

What version of Ubuntu are you using in 8.10 and 9.04, you can simply plugin the device and then click on the network manager icon in the panel and enter details of your service provider.

Indeed! That's just what I did with my Sprint Sierra usb broadband modem. In fact, in my Ubuntu 9.04 system I didn't even need to input the connection information - it figured it out and connected me automatically as soon as I selected it in the network connection list. That's probably because most of the connection information is stored in the modem itself, so once it's identified to the network (Sprint in this case), the OS doesn't need to do much at all. Mine was already initialized and identified when I originally set it up on my old Windows laptop.
