    New DVD Codec?

    Hi All,

My girlfriend is really into Desperate Housewives, I get Season 2 and find that they won't work in Ubuntu (VLC or movie player), they load but when I push play the video basically freezes but sound continues....anyone know of some new codec? I've tried on multiple machines so I'm pretty sure it's no machine specific.

I don't know what to say jmadero other than when movie player or vlc doesn't work for me in a certain situation. Then Gxine does.

You probably have Medibuntu repositories and restricted extras installed already I take it. Including lidvdcss2 and win32codecs,. Maybe someone else has some knowledge I don't know about.

yeah I should try gxine, I never have problems with VLC (or very very rarely) but I do have libdvdcss2 and win32codecs installed so I'm at a loss.....we can play them on my 360 so I know it's not fauly dvds
