    UBuntu linux not detecting hadware

    Hi,

    I am using ubuntu version of linux. I have an PCI USB controller card. When i insert this card in the PCI Slot, ubuntu linux does not detect this new
    hardware. Am i missing some package or what package should i install in order to get new hardware detected.

    Hi and Welcome !

    Insert the card and execute this in Terminal :
    Code:
    tail -s 3 -f /var/log/messages
    Post output here.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Hi devils,

    I executed
    tail -s 3 -f /var/log/messages first and then i inserted the card and again executed
    the tail -s 3 -f /var/log/messages command.

    But i did not get any new messages.

    I am really got stuck. help will be appreciated.
