Intel GMA 500 Trouble
I am having trouble with the Intel GMA 500 graphics, they work, but they are very slow and choppy. I am on Ubuntu 8.10 currently. Not only are the graphics choppy, but I can only use 1024x768 resolution. Can someone please help me with a fix or point me to a linux distro that will work out of the box with my setup.
Here is my setup:
Dell Inspiron Mini 10
-Ubuntu 8.10
-Intel®Atom®Processor Z530 (1.6GHz/533MHz FSB/512K Cache)
-10.1" HD Widescreen Display (1366x768)
-160GB, 2.5inch, 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
-Intel®Graphics Media Accelerator 500
-1GB DDR2 SDRAM

Hi and Welcome !
Which Driver are using for Graphics Card in xorg.conf file? intel, i810 or vesa?
Could you post the contents of /etc/X11/xorg.conf file here?It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

UPDATE:
Drivers for the GMA 500 are lacking still, but i got a hold of some 2d drivers that work with 9.04. I updated and installed and they work. Guess I'll have to wait for further support to get those 3d drivers. I also have another question, could I get both 3d and 2d support on 8.10? If not then no big deal.
Thanks for the welcome.
