Adobe has flash 10 plugins for your Firefox browser - download and install directly from them, though I see that they are available for my CentOS yum package manager from the rpmforge repository. I also have installed a module called tvflash, and with that (and possibly the flash plugin) I am able to play most flash videos (flv) with VLC. Some won't play, so I just convert them to mpeg files with ffmpeg and then I can play them with anything.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

I never had problems installing the Adobe Flash plugin from the repos. Just open up Synaptic and look for flash-plugin-nonfree (or you could install Gnash, which is a fully free flash player that functions as a plugin as well as a standalone .SWF player).
