When I print I get a blank page!

    Hi

This is most frustratiing! I have gone the printer setup, i.e System/Administratio/Printing.
Printer cofig window pops up and my printer has been detected and is displayed right there.

But when I go to print test page it sends the job to the printer and starts printing, except one problem..... the page comes out blank! (exactly the same thing happens if I print a document also) Before anyone asks, yes there IS ink in the cartridge and I can switch to windows and print just fine. Any ideas whats going on?

I'm using Jaunty 9.04 and the printer is an HP Deskjet D1460

    Thanks

The HP Deskjet D1460 works fine under Linux using HPLIP drivers.

OK thanks. Yes i looked up my printer and saw it is supported. Are you saying I need to download the HPLIP drivers to get it to work?
Which I can but what puzzles me is if it already sends a job to the printer and prints the page (albeit blank) it would seem to indicate some driver is currently installed. Without a driver it wouldn't communicate with the printer would it?

Anyway you are saying I need to download the driver from HPLIP?

I use a canon iP3000 and I had to go to System>Printing which brings up Printer Configuration-localhost. Here I selected New and let it search for drivers. Everything works fine after I made it my default printer. You can try this, I hopr it works,

Well I've sorted it. I went to System/Admin/Printers and deleted my printer. Then went to new printer and let it detect and install and now it prints just fine. Why I don't know?
    But now it works

Hi oxf, glad to hear it. Usually when you use HP printers HPLIP does the trick but I have had to install hpij to get the printer to work and if you have a hp all-in-one you will have to install hpoj to get the scanner to work. Just a little info in case you get one. Have a great day and welcome to the forums. I'm new here also.
