    Exclamation [SOLVED] No video

    K guys, here's the problem...

My PC, running Ubuntu 9.04, HP D330 DT, won't play video AT ALL!
Screensavers are shaky and jerky, you tube plays just sound! And Video players crash whenever I start a video!

Most games that come default with Ubuntu play fine, some I got myself which are simply platform or 2D games play fine... But anything 3D is incredibly shaky and uncontrollable!

Adds and commercials on websites play smoothly and fine. Except one! I forget the name...

I first thought it was my media codecs... And with names like Gstreamer ugly and bad, I didn't want them. But know I know it's not them!

My graphics card is Intel Extreme Graphics 2... And the only thing I haven't checked is my graphics card driver!

I don't know how to change it though!
I know in Sys.> Admin.> Hardware Drivers, you usually change your drivers, but when I open mine... It's blank!

Anyone know what I should do!

Open terminal and execute these commands and post output for us.
    Code:
    lspci | grep -i vga
    grep -i driver /etc/X11/xorg.conf

I would suggest you to post all the contents of /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
Post the output of commands suggested by coopstah13 too.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

You may want to try disabling desktop effects. The desktop effects can consume video processing power, and adversely affect other video processes, all in the name of making things look "pretty"!

    Open this:
    System-->Preferences-->Appearance

On the "Visual Effects" tab, select "None".

See if that gives you any noticeable improvement. You may want to look into an updated driver, but Ubuntu most likely is giving you the most recent.

I don't have desktop effects enabled, in fact I'm struggling to find out why...
It searches for drivers, and then says I can't have desktop effects...

P.S, I clicked the Link, but my problems are quite different...
I can't watch video at all! Either the player crashes, or it just plays sound...

It does this in U tube, with any video format in VLC, or Totem...

Simple screensavers are the only that play without jolts, shakes, and flickers...

What do you think I should do?
I could update my driver, but Intel extreme graphics is so outdated, I might as well upgrade my graphics CARD.

The only problem is I can't find much that is compatible with my motherboard

I would suggest you again to post the contents of /etc/X11/xorg.conf file here.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
