Grub Error 22 problems at start up! I really need help! Nothing has worked so far!
Hello, I recently installed Kubuntu on my second hard drive(I wanted to dual boot with Vista) and when I started up, I had the Grub 1.5 Error 17 screen. I tried everything that I could find online to somehow fix this issue and I couldn't find any solution that worked. Maybe I was doing something wrong but I'm not sure. Then I decided that maybe if I use Ubuntu's LiveCD I could somehow delete Kubuntu from my hard drive and try again. I used GParted to delete Kubuntu off my hard drive and restarted. I then received the same screen with the following "Grub 1.5 Error 22". Again, I searched online for an answer and some forums said that I need to run some sort of thing in Windows RE. I don't have my Vista disc anymore...I lost it. Now on to my question, is there ANY WAY I can fix this Grub Error using my Ubuntu liveCD? I booted off of it right now and that's how I'm typing this.
Please help. I can't afford to delete my other hard drive with Vista on it.
Edit: I really need this problem fixed ASAP please. I really don't want to have to use the liveCD every time I want to use my computer
Edit 2: I looked through the forum for some help on this..and the people who have had error 22 did not have the same problem as me. As I stated, I DELETED Kubuntu from my hard drive and I have the error. I do not have any blank CDs or USB sticks to boot from. Can I somehow fix my grub WITHOUT fixmbr or anything? Is there some sort of Terminal command I can use? Here is some more information on how my partitions are set up...

grub can be reinstalled from the live cd but you must have linux already installed for that to work.
if i understand you right you now have no linux installed so just reinstall this and it will install grub as part of the set up

Beg, borrow or steal a blank CD and burn and use a Super Grub Iso to delete grub and reinstall windows MBR. You can also make a bootable floppy of Super Grub Disk also. No Linux command I know of in Terminal will reinstall Windows Master Boot Record (MBR). But Super Grub Disk can when you don't have a Windows Disk.
