[SOLVED] apt-get problems
Hello
So i'll try to keep it short, (but help is very much appreciated).
I tried getting the latest Java through the Terminal as the Java tutorial on their website did not work for me.
So I type in "sudo apt-get install sun.java6.dpk", Or something like that, (can't remember exactly what I typed but it was along those lines I believe).
I accidentally closed me Terminal, and upon reopening and typing in the "apt-get blah blah", I got this error "E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (13 Permission denied) E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), are you root?"
I do not know how to get rid of this error.
I also got this error, "E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution).", I cannot remember what I typed in but it was an "apt-get" as well.
I am new to Ubuntu, and so far I am Loving it, I will definetely be keeping this OS, but I am no computer newbie, so no need to baby talk, although since it is a unfamiliar OS, steps are appreciated.
Any help is appreciated, thank you
