Hey, I am a newbie to Ubuntu.

Problem: When I try to save, open, a file, or do a command in The Terminal (this is not all the time) But it freezes. I had windows Vista b4 I got Ubuntu, and I better tell you something, ubuntu is ALOT better. I just wanted to see if I could fix the Freezing problem.

What do you mean by "it freezes". Can you still move the mouse around or interact with anything else? Can you drop to a console by pressing ctrl+alt+f1 (ctrl+alt+f7 to return to gui)? Most "freezing" is usually graphics related. Open terminal, run these commands and post results (if it doesn't freeze)
    Code:
    lspci | grep -i vga
    grep -i driver /etc/X11/xorg.conf

This happens to me when Ubuntu tries to mount (and read the directory of) an external drive at the time I save something. Could this be the same thing?

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
