    what services can be safely turned off?

    im on linux mint 7 32.bit. my motherboard is a abit ip35pro a desktop board the videocard is a ati HD.3850 so im sure services for laptops and other stuff can be turned off but i dont want to blindly shut stuff off. thanks

    You can turn off the most from Gnome Start up programs if you don't need it.
    But it is better not to turn off system services, however service will only need system resources when its active or accessed, not while sleeping.

    I only turn off ones I'm absolutely sure of, like bluetooth (since I never use that).
