I want to install the nvidia drivers for Kubuntu 9.04
I know I can run the drivers from Nvidia, but does Kubuntu have its own drivers.
Would appreciate advice and some instruction on what to do.

    Thanks

The only thing I could find was in:
applications > system > hardware drivers

    It said:
No proprietary drivers in use on this system.
This is the card on my computer:
    joe@Kubutu:~$ lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV6 [Vanta/Vanta LT] (rev 15)
Is there something more I need to do?

    Thanks.

I googled around and it looks like you need the nvidia-glx-71 package.

No idea why it isn't showing up in the restricted drivers manager, but you can install it with synaptic package manager. System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager
