    [9.04] Printing to a Windows2003 printserver

First of all great forums, been very helpful to me in the past

I have a Windows 2003 domain with a 2003 box taking up the role as print server. Now i want to deploy a workstation so that out consultants can have a go at unix to see if it will be viable for us as a client OS. Naturally they need to print and i would like to make use of the current setup.

How do i make use of the current print server ? Ive gone through all the options availiable but without any luck.

Any help/tips would be widely appreciated.

There's a couple of ways to approach this. One is, if you have a ppd for the printer on the client, to set the printer up as a Samba client. This however can lend itself to incompatibilities between drivers, thus doesn't always work.

The other option is more universal. Windows 2K+ has an option to install "Unix Print Services." This will install a PDF driver to redirect incoming data to a file or another printer installed locally on the server. It is accessed by posix systems as a lpr/lpd server.

Okay i got it working, turned out to be pretty simple

I am however presented with a new problem which isn't really on topic but ill draft it up anyways.

I need to change the interception that occurs when you press the "Print screen" button. When i change the char mapping for that key i can only disable it. Anyone know how i can change this intercept ?

EDIT: i can't post a url with a screenshot here, but im referring to the default screencap utility that comes with Ubuntu/Gnome or WhiteBox Enterprise Linux
