Sorry but it's not too clear what you are trying to do. Are you trying to boot the Ubuntu CD to run it as a live CD/install Ubuntu or have you installed Ubuntu and are now trying to browse the CD?

If you are trying to boot from the CD then you will need to set your CD drive as the first boot device in your BIOS

If you are trying to mount the CD inside of Ubuntu then simply inserting the CD and opening it should automatically mount it. What method are you trying? Are you getting any error messages?

Put the CD in the tray, close it, and re-boot. On my Dell computer, when it's first starting up, there's a little screen that says "Press F12 to enter Setup" or something like that. That's what you want to do is enter "setup."

Sometimes you have to press F12 (or whatever your computer uses - they're not all the same) several times, and you have to be quick or it'll just finish booting up.

After you see the Setup menu, find "first boot device" and choose "boot from CD." The words may be a little different on your computer but you'll know. This is where you tell the computer to boot into the CD instead of your hard drive.

Exit and it should just go to the CD from there.

Other common keys are: Escape, F2 and Del
