Ubuntu Server & Installing GUI w/ No Internet

    Hey All,

I have just installed Ubuntu Server v9.04 and it is running without a problem on my Server.

    However,

I need to install a GUI. So here's what I want to do: I am going to download the Alternate CD iso image for Gnome Desktop from Ubuntu's download page. I will then fire up the server, login to Ubuntu Server, and put the Alternate CD into the drive. I will then run the sudo commands to have Ubuntu Server get the app directly from the CD ROM.

Here's what I want to know

Does the Alternate CD Ubuntu Desktop iso INCLUDE a Window System in the package? Or do I need to download an X-Window-System-Core in addition?

Also, I do not have a way to get the Server up to INET connectivity right now, so anything I do will have to be put onto CD, and then loaded onto the Server by means of sudo apt-cdrom.

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
