Ubuntu no internet connection
Hi All,I have just installed Ubuntu on my laptop,my problem is how do I get to connect to the internet,I have set up my email as well.I have never used Linux before so I am totally green,any and all help will be much appreciated..Thank you mayanbilly..ps I have a wireless connection with a Netgear router..and use pop3 email..hotmail..and yahoo sometimes..

To set up a wireless card, we will need some more detailed information. Read through the thread linked to below. It explains the info needed, and how to find it.

I would open terminal and do
>ifconfig
see if your wifi shows up as an interface - if so you need to configure it. If not you should follow the excellent advice of waterhead...- Clouds don't crash - Bertrand Meyer
