    flash player videos sound funny

hello everyone i have a question for you.
i put together a old 1.0 ghz dell optiplex with 512mb ram and 2 hard drives the primary being 40gig maxtor and the storage being 13gig maxtor with a gigbyte 32mb agp video card sorry cant remember the chipset right now and onboard everything else.
the os runs great my only problem is the flash player.
when i go to watch video the sound is always too fast.
and by fast i mean it sounds like alvin and the chipmunks are singing back in black lol. but, anyway i have tried everything i can think of including downloading hack versions with no help. i even uninstalled flash 10 and went back to flash 9 with and still the same result. and what is really driving me nuts right now is. i run a dual boot xp/ubuntu jaunty box at home and flash plays fine on my ubuntu. so i know i have to be missing something simple. but i have no idea what.
any help would be greatly apperciated.
    thank in advance
    jeremy

p.s. the computer above is basically just a internet surfing and cd burner box for my cousin.

thanks again and i hope all is well

What flash player/plugin are you using?
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
