Ubuntu problems
Hi All,I have installed Ubuntu and could not get on the internet, after asking for help on this forum, which I got,I find Linux to be so complicated,I have used computers for 25 years ,Windows, and consider myself fairly competent with them, but Linux although very easy to install is very hard to get the services after installation up and running, the advice I got from one of the forums experts would need,I think,a university degree to work it out.I will however still persist with it as I would really like to have Linux running on my machine, even as a dual boot.Maybe with the winter fast approaching I will have more time in the dark evening to come to grips with it better..Mayanbilly

I bet when you started with Windows, you had some sort of learning curve (you didn't become a pro overnight). Its the same with Linux, you have to unlearn some stuff from Windows and embrace a different way of doing things. It may seem complicated now, but I bet with time, it will be just as easy and logical as what you are already used to.

Mayanbilly......I agree with daar child.....take baby steps
...read the forum entries....seach google for things that you need....when I first learned windows I kept a small notebook with things I learned (since 1985)..I eventually didn't need the notebook....since I am new to linux also.....I have used the reources on this forum and did little things to make my computer do what I need it to do.
