Using Sceptre X9W monitor with Ubuntu
Hello All. I'm new to Linux and still stumbling around in the dark and finding my way around the forums, so pardon my ignorance in asking this. I have a Sceptre X9W monitor which I would like to use, but can't get see a way to set the resolution higher than 640x480, which makes everything WAY to big. I would like to set it to either 1280x768 ( think) or 1440x900. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave the Newbie

Hello and Welcome.
You probably just need to edit the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf to add your monitors resolution. You'll need the manual that came with the monitor to get the correct settings, you need the hsync and vsync values.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
