how can I install windows XP from a SD card?
I'd use a DVD but alas, I do not have a burner or the money to get one. I'm currently running Linux Jaunty and while it's a lot of fun to mess with it doesn't support my video card and now I must go back to windows to play any of my games.
Would mounting a windows XP ISO to a virtual drive let me install it from inside Jaunty? And before anyone asks, yes I have a legal code for the OS, my laptop just didn't come with the physical disk (code is printed on the bottom).

You can install XP in a virtual machine from the iso file, yes. Is that what you're asking?

Heh, actually I was looking for a way to just totally overwrite Linux and replace it with windows. From the research I've done though that looks impossible so I've decided to just install it as a virtual boot like you said. Do you (or anyone else) know if there are significant drawbacks to this? The only reason I'm doing this is to play games so if the virtual boot won't be able to recognize my card it shall all be for naught.

A) No, you can't run an XP install from inside a running Linux OS.
B) No, a virtual machine will not pass the host machine's video card into the guest virtual machine (VM.) VM's are portable because the same hardware is presented to the VM no matter what HW the host machine has.
C) You can install XP using a USB drive, Google is your friend. You may dig up an article on creating a USB XP install using Linux, or you may have to borrow someone else's Windows machine.
** You may find more help on a Windows forum about install XP from a USB stick.
