    Audio Problems w/ Ubuntu Upgrade

    hey there, i recently updated my ubuntu distro to 8.10 and am now having trouble playing audio from files on my machine, esp. mp3s. the audio works fine for streaming content from the internet, but if i open an mp3 file from my computer, no matter the software, it does not play and the software often crashes. (before the update, everything was working fine).

    i tried reinstalling medibuntu and the codecs, but to no avail. any suggestions?

    - nevermind. i restarted and now it's working.
