Ubuntu 9.04 not connecting to wireless

Having a problem with Ubuntu 9.04. Had a hard drive crash on Vista, so I ran Ubuntu live boot CD on it to retrieve the files, and since it worked I decided to wipe the hard drive clean and install Ubuntu as the OS. Everything seems to be working on it now, but I cannot get my wireless internet to work (as info, the wired network connection does work). I've searched thru the message boards thinking it's a driver issue or something like that, but can't find anything. Tried to install the drivers from Gateway website, but when using ndiswrapper, there's no .INF file. Brand new to the game, so need help from the ground-up, unfortunately.

System is gateway laptop purchased 2 years ago. Has a built-in wireless card (not sure how to detect the mfg of the wireless, but it is A-B-G-N capable) and the router I'm using is a 2-wire 2701 HG-B
