    What will this do?

    Hey Guys,

I am interested in buying this graphics card: EVGA 128-A8-N303-L2 GeForce FX 5200 128MB 64-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card

I noticed it was 64-bit, and was wondering if this will affect my PC.
As far as I know, no other part of my PC is 64-bit.

So before I buy I card that might not do anything, could someone tell me what I don't know?

    Thanks!

    ~Caleb

This is the memory interface of the VGA.
It won't cause any issues. Just make sure your motherboard has AGP slot.
You should also know that this is a very old and underpowered model. It should be ok for seeing Compiz effects, but probablyinsufficient for many 3d games, like nexuiz or alien arena. If you want to play modern 3d games and have 80$ to spare, you could go for an ATI 4650. But better search if its Linux driver is in good state, to avoid issues.

    Thanks.

Thanks for that, I have no PCI-E slots, so chose AGP as the next best thing. My PC is pretty Low-end, not really designed for gaming anyway. Hopefully works better than my terrible Intel extreme integrated.

    Thanks again!

Nvidia drivers work really good with 5200, I was using this gpu in my old pc. But as L4Linux stated don't expect much.
