Dual Booting with windows master boot record

I'm trying to dual boot ubuntu with windows vista but keep using the Windows MBR(dad's laptop, so I don't care cause I prefer ubuntu but he likes windows). I installed it before and it put the Ubuntu MBR on there(I'm installing it again anyway though, so I can do something in the installation process). Problem is, i'm not allowed to use ubuntu unless I keep the vista MBR

Are you doing a wubi install or creating separate partitions for Linux?

    Seperate partitions using disk director.

You may find easybcd useful ... personally I would use grub as the bootloader but if you are forced to use Windows bootloader then easybcd will probably help for Vista.

Dad already has easyBCD. He uses it as well.
