    Changing locations in BASH

Not quite sure where to post it but since I am using Ubuntu, thought I'd do it here. it's a basic BASH question. I have a Storage drive that I partitioned but Linux made its owner ROOT instead of my user name, so now I can't use it for storage! I'm ignorant when it comes to command line, so since there isn't a link to the drive, I can't navigate to it. What are the commands to switch disks so I can chmod the permissions of the folder?

OK, I formatted it to FAT32 and it worked out just fine. Thanks for the lead!
