    try in a terminal

    sudo gnome-display-properties

thats how i get into display properties from a terminal. If this works, then add it into the menu.

thanks but getting to display properties isn't the problem.there is no" display properties"...it is cnly allowing me to adjust display resolution and is called "display resolution".i'm thinking maybe i don't have the right display drivers installed or possibly installed incorrectly?it is a rv380 chipset firegl card.i'm reading binarydriverhowto/ati on ubuntuhelp but can't seem to figure it out.in terminal i keep getting "no such directory" when trying to install...since then i have reinstalled or i should say enabled the ati propritary drivers but still no "display properties" just "display resolution"any help appreciated!
