ubuntu 8.10 ps3
hi,
trying to put ubuntu 8.10 on my ps3 but when i go to load ubuntu 8.10 i can not read whats on the screen! i can when the 2 penguins come up at first but after i hit enter on the key board its so small can not read it, i have tryed all the video out put settings on the ps3 & tv but its still the same, what do i try next? has anyone eles had this? my tv is a LG 42in plasma,

Which screen does it begin to get small? Is it the ubuntu login screen or is it the kboot prompt? If its the login screen then its possible to fix the problem by changing the DPI settings (sometimes the DPI will be set for something like 400 which will make the text unreadably small).

I would suggest you try using an 'alternate' mode install CD which uses the text-only installer. Perhaps try out Ubuntu 9.04 instead. I've looked up the location for you and it can be found here:

do i install 9.04 like i did with 8.10 the same way?

right,
i have done a test on a nother tv, if your going to load this ubuntu on your ps3 do not use a PLASMA HD tv to load it on your ps3 use a LCD tv, the words on the PLASMA tv are all small & broken up but they are fine on the LCD tv, after you have loaded ubuntu on your ps3 using the LCD tv go back to your PLASMA tv & ubuntu read fine when using it.
i dont know why it is like this, im sure you tv head nuts out there will know why!
